About Alum GroupHide

Formula:
XAl(SO4)2 · 12H2O
A generic term for hydrated sulphates of aluminium (or other trivalent cations) and an alkali (or comparable monovalent cation).
A large number of synthetic analogues are known.
Alums crystallize in one of three different crystal structures. These classes are called α-, β- and γ-alums.
