A synonym of Epsomite
Seelandite was described by Brunlechner in 1891 as a new hydrated magnesium sulphate, found in the Lölling workings on Hüttenberger Erzberg, Carinthia. For some time, it was considered as a variety of pickeringite, until its identity to epsomite was demonstrated (Meixner, 1950).
