I see that the prices fluctuate a lot (USD 50-600.—range)and wonder what are the criteria in the selection of an eye piece camera ?
Do’s and don’t including software recommendations.
Thank you.

LM Scope and Am Scope sell all sorts of adaptors for fitting a SLR (with removable Lens) to a microscope eyepiece tube, they are not top of the range, for that you would have to go to places like Thorlabs.

For me, so far it is just ok. The software it comes with is good. I probably could do a better photo taking my time. hope this helps

Hi Bruno, it seems not much response so far. The reason may be that most micromout photographers (at least this I know in germany ) do not anymore use stereomicroscopes for photography. The resolution is just to low, due to the typical 1 x, 2x to 4 x objectives. You get better results with photographic eqipment.
Sorry for that, but Stereomicroscopes are fine for viewing with the eye, but pictures are mostly not good.
Regards
Volker

Thank you very much for your replies, this is appreciated.
For a start, I might follow the steps of Frank.

I have finally bought a digital camera directly in China and got good service for a cost of about USD 150.—. While I have still to learn to use it properly, I’m quite satisfied with the first pictures and I share with you an example of a Ludlockite from Tsumeb.
