A small iron mine located about 150 km from the city of Oruro, started 2012, owned by a cooperative formed of four campesino communities. Ore runs 63 to 68% Fe, with 30,000 tons produced in 2012. Planned production is 10,000 tons/month, with the ore to be exported to China. A mill is located in San Jorge.
