The Boral Quarry is a large operating opencut basalt quarry about 400 m east of the Midland Highway that runs through Bridgewater, north of Hobart, Tasmania. An interesting statistic is that once a year, 1 tonne bags of washed aggregate are sent to Antarctica.
The Mineralogical Society of Tasmania holds regular collecting trips to the quarry, when the quarry is not operating, and must be accompanied by quarry staff.
