Locality type: | Massif | ||||||

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Formula: | Ca(Al2Si2O8) | ||||||
Comments: | The plagioclase in the gabbro grades from labradorite (~An69) in the cores to andesine (~An39) in the rims. The close proximity of the core plagioclase composition to the labradorite-bytownite nomenclature boundary suggests that with a bit of additional searching, slightly more Ca-rich zones that would normalize to bytownite could likely be discovered. | ||||||
