A former Pb-Ag-Au-Cu-Zn occurrence/mine located in sec. 26, T16N, R6E, SBM, a few miles N of the Blue Bell Mine (8 miles E of Riggs [site]), on private (patented) land. NOTE: The location given in references cited are erroneous. The original claim corners were found by the California Division of Mines personnel in 1988. Operated in 1908. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in quartzite. Brecciated quartzite 210 feet wide is exposed for a length of several thousand feet. Mineralization occurs along the full width of the brecciated zone. The richest portion is next to the hanging wall. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Tertiary nonmarine rocks, undivided.
Workings include underground openings with a length of 163.07 meters and an overall depth of 99.06 meters and comprised of a 325 foot shaft with a 210 foot crosscut on the 300 foot level.
