A former Hg mine located in sec. 1, T10N, R8W, MDM, 3.3 km (2.1 miles) SSE of Castle Rock Springs and 4 miles NW of the Great Western Mine. NOTE: Some refereneces place this mine in Sonoma County.
Veinlets and disseminations of mercury ores in dense opaline silica-carbonate rock, occurring in the footwall of a wide fault that separates serpentinite from sandstone. Some mineralization is also present in the sandstone and in highly altered basalt dykes that have intruded the serpentinite in the hanging wall of the fault.
Production data are found in: U.S. Bureau of Mines file data.
