Ordinary Chondrite, brecciated (LL4; S3-5; W0)
Fell, 13 October 1877; 80 kg.

After a fireball and detonations, a shower of stones fell over a region of ~30 square km. Ten stones were recovered, the most massive 38 kg. The meteorite is somewhat unusual as it contains a variety of chondritic and non-chondritic clasts within a darker, somewhat recrystallized chondritic matrix. Moderately large and well defined (usually) olivine-rich chondrules reach 2 mm in size. Clasts and grains have experienced a range of preterrestrial shock events (shock levels range from S3 to S5).

Soko-Banja is the most massive of the small group of 7 observed meteorite falls that are classified as exactly 'LL4' ordinary chondrites — very low in total iron and only moderately equilibrated — at The Meteoritical Bulletin Database (early January 2016).
