Located 180 kilometres north north-west of Meekatharra, and 15 kilometres north-west of Milgun Station homestead. It is a little to the north-east of the Milgun variscite mine (Mount Deverall variscite mine). Most of the production of variscite from Western Australia over the past three decades have come from these two deposits. Specimens of variscite are common and usually named just Milgun.
The variscite occurs in narrow (up to 100mm), near surface, fault controlled veins, in shale and mudstone of the Kiangi Creek Formation.
