A F(fluorspar) occurrence/prospect located in sec. 14, T9N, R13E, SBM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) NE of Arrowhead Spring (coordinates of record), on private land within a federal reservation (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). Discovered in 1870. First produced in 1889. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: The USGS MRDS database seemingly has data from another locality in the Ord Mountain District con fused with this locality and contained in the cited MRDS file.
The ore body strikes N15W and dips 80W at a thickness of 6 meters, a width of 45.7 meters, and a length of 1.5 meters. The body is in a shear zone. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings.
