Unequilibrated Ordinary chondrite, brecciated (H3-5,br).
Fall, 7 September 1753; 14 kg.
After detonations, two stones (9kg;5kg) were found at Luponnas and at Pont-de-Vesle. Accounts are sparse and only a small amount appears to have been preserved.
At the beginning of the millennium the largest remaining fragments (84 g, 54 g) were held at the Naturhistorisches Museum in Wien (Vienna) and the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris, respectively.
Luponnas is one of 44 witnessed unequilibrated ordinary chondrite falls. Four other witnessed falls — Didim, Fermo, Magombedze, and Oum Dreyga — are also classified exactly as 'H3-5' ordinary chondrites.
