The Toodoggone deposit consists of epithermal disseminated vein stockwork hosted by the Early Jurassic Toodog-gone Formation, a pyroclastic volcanic assemblage, dominantly andesitic to dacitic in composition. Most of the gold in this deposit occurs as fine- to very fine grained sponge gold hosted by vuggy, bladed barite veins and stockworks. One specimen with a small (3-mm) wirelike crystal protruding from alunite matrix is known from the Verrenass zone. It was found during exploration of the Al (Bonanza) property in the late 1980s. There should be more gold crystals.
