Alta California Mine; Alta Copper claim
A former Cu-Co mine located in the W½ sec. 34, T18N, R1E, HM, 0.4 km (1,300 feet) SSW of Low Divide and NE of Crescent City. Mined during the Civil War.
Mineralization is hosted in Josephine Peridotite containing pods of troilite and chalcopyrite.
Workings include a single, now caved, shaft.
