A magnesite mine located in sec. 17, T6S, R5E, MDM, 1.1 km (3,600 feet) E of Red Mountain (coordinates of record), on the NE slope of the mountain, W of Hideout Canyon. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).
