A former Mn occurrence/mine located in the SW¼ sec. 26, T5S, R4E, MDM, 4.8 km (3.0 miles) ESE of Eylar Mountain (coordinates of record), along the N canyon wall of Pulse Canyon, E of Arroyo Mocho, in the NE corner of the county, on private land. Discovered in 1918. Owned & operated by Jack Pulse, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The ore body is 0.61 meter thick. Siliceous Mn oxide 2 feet thick is enclosed in white chert and decomposed, buff, shaly chert striking N30W and dipping 50SW. The ore is slightly oxidized pinkish chert with small pockets of high-grade Mn oxide. Some thin-bedded, brown, shaly chert contains thin Mn oxide films. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.
Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings.
