A former Au occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 18, T3N, R1E, SBM, about 8.6 km NNE of Fawnskin and about 7 miles NW of Big Bear City, along Wild Rose Canyon (tributary of Furnace Canyon), on the divide between Arctic Canyon on the E and Furnace Canyon on the W (4 miles N of Big Bear Lake Ranger Station), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Idle in 1958.

Mineralization is a pocket deposit hosted in Furnace dolomite marble. The dolomitic marble was described as irregular and cherty. Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Mojave Desert).

Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 shafts, each at 100 feet deep, about 200 feet apart. There are several adits, mostly caved.
