A former Au occurrence/mine located in the N½N½NE¼ sec. 1, T8N, R18E, SBM, 1.7 km (1.1 miles) SSE of Mountain Spring Camp (coordinates of record). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in gneiss. The ore body is 0.91 meter (3 feet) thick. The vein is iron-stained and 2 to 3 feet thick. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 20 foot adit and several shallow pits.
