A former Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in the E½ sec. 21, T5N, R5E, SBM, 8.6 km (5.4 miles) NW of Emerson Lake (coordinates of record), in the hills just N of the lake bed (5.5 miles S of Argus Mountain). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in aplite and alkali-granite (alaskite). The ore body is 182.88 meters thick. Quartz stockwork occurs in a number of dikes to 500 feet long and 50 feet thick. An en echelon dike zone occurs to 600 feet thick and contains quartz veins to 3 feet thick and is exposed for 2,700 feet along the strike. Controls for ore emplacement included dikes. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Analytical data results: Samples assayed at 370 foot intervals indicated a trace of Au and 0.0-0.2 ounce Ag per ton.
