A Cu-Ag occurrence/mine located in sec. 36, T7N, R4E, and in sec. 31, T7N, R5E, SBM, 8.3 km (5.2 miles) W of Sunshine Peak (coordinates of record) and 9.4 km (5.9 miles) NW of Argos Mountain (coordinates of record) (10 miles S of Lavic). Opened in 1890 as an Ag mine and pockets of high-grade Cu ore were mined later. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a replacement deposit hosted in porphyry. The ore body strikes N50W and dips 70NE at a length of 45.72 meters. The Cu mineralization is on the footwall side of the fault zone. Controls for ore emplacement included a shear zone. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Local geologic structures include a fault.
Workings include surface and underground openings with several hundred feet of workings on 4 levels.
Analytical data results: over 30% Cu and 15 ounces Ag/ton.
Total production is undetermined but was over 70,000 ounces of Ag prior to 1900. Idle since.
