A former Cu-Au-Ag-Zn occurrence/mine located in secs. 4 & 9, T15N, R14E, SBM, 1.6 km (1.0 mile) SSE of Kokoweef Peak (coordinates of record), on the western slope of the range (adjacent to the New Trail Mine; 12 miles NW of Cima), on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in porphyry and limestone. The ore body strikes N30E and dips 80NW at a thickness of 1.83 meters. Limestone strikes N30W and dips 45NE between granite walls. The vein occurs along a porphyry intrusion. Local rocks include Cambrian marine rocks.

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 70 foot shaft, 100 foot crosscut and various caved level workings including a 40 foot drift on the 70 level and stopes on the 40 and 70 foot levels.

Production data are found in: Wright, L.A., et al (1953).

During the period 1917 to 1919, 4 cars of ore were shipped and were reported to assay 25% Cu and $7 (period values) Au/ton. The total production was probably small.

Analytical data results: Au: 0.12 - 0.16 ounce/ton; Ag: 3.87 - 4.54 ounces/ton; Cu: 25.02 - 26.50%, insoluble: 11.8 - 28.50%; Fe: 16 - 21.0%.
