A magnesite deposit/prospects located in secs. 3 & 4, T9N, R6W, SBM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) WSW of Kramer Hills (town), and about 9.3 km (6 miles) SSE of Kramer Junction, along the western margins of the central Kramer Hills (hills), on Bureau of Land Management administered land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. There are several prospect symbols on the topo map in the NW¼ sec. 3, NE¼ sec. 4 & in the N½SE¼ sec. 4.
NOTE: The geographic coordinates provided are for the center of the boundary line between sections 3 & 4. USGS MRDS database file #10237802 presents geographic coordinates of 34.9066666667, -117.5, which corresponds to the prospect symbol in the NW¼ of sec. 3.
NOTE: The description for the location of this deposit in the reference is about 4 miles SE of Kramer Station. There is no such locality name listed in the USGS GNIS database (primary or alternate). Research of the coordinates for the stated T&R location indicates that has to be referring to Kramer Junction, which is the local population center on the railroad.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).
