A former Au-Pb-Ag-Cu occurrence/mine located in the SW¼SW¼SE¼ sec. 35, T13N, R12E, SBM, 4.4 km (2.7 miles) SSW of Rainbow Wells (town), in the northern Marl Mountains, on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 60.96 meters and an overall depth of 42.67 meters and comprised of a 140 foot shaft and a 60 foot adit.
Production data are found in: Goodwin, Joseph Grant (1957).
Produced during the period 1936 to 1941. Major activity occurred in 1941. About 1,500 tons of Au ore were produced. A small shipment of Au concentrates contained 34.40% Pb, recoverable Cu, plus Au & Ag.
