A former lode Au-Cu occurrence/mine located in sec. 10, T6N, R4W, SBM, 1.9 km (1.2 miles) N of Quartzite Mountain (coordinates of record)(1 mile ESE of Sparkhule Mountain), on private land. The property is comprised of 1 claim. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Adjoins the Ozark on the S. Idle since 1931.
Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Goodsprings Dolomite (Sidewinder series andesite & tuff). The ore body strikes N10E aand dips 85W at a thickness of 0.91 meter. Controls for ore emplacement included a shear zone. The vein is 2 to 3 feet thick with coarse stringers in the shear zone. It appears nearly vertical at surface. The andesite occurs as a dike 60 feet thick. It is sheared (schistose) where it is cut by the vein. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 24.38 meters and comprised of a shaft.
