A former mica mine.
When inspected around 1962, Rochow noted that the mine had been taken over in 1957 by J. Negri. The workings consisted of an abandoned inclined stope to the shaft base; another abandoned inclined stope below and to the south of the main shaft; and a drive north from the bottom of the shaft.
The pegmatite occupies a joint system, dips 45-50 degrees west, parallel to the foliation of the surrounding gneiss. There is a fine grained 5-8 feet thick hanging wall zone, with abundant ruby mica, but much of it bent and stained making it unsaleable at the time. The pegmatite contains a quartz core with mica margins to the core. The footwall contains little mica.
