A Mn occurrence/prospect located in sec. 8, T13S, R8E, MDM, 1.9 km (1.2 miles) E of Reinoso Peak (coordinates of record) and about 18 miles E of Tres Pinos. Discovered in 1942. Owned by Ramon Samovia, California (1950). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The ore body strikes NW and dips 35SW at a thickness of 0.3 meter. Manganiferous chert bed occurs within homodinal beds of greenish to white or cream colored Franciscan chert that strikes and dips as stated above. The ore bed is 1 foot thick and weathering has produced secondary oxides to a depth of 8 feet. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Workings include underground openings.
