The village of Emmaville lies 23 km West of Deepwater and 5 km South-West of Tent Hill and is located in County Gough.

The original name of the town was Vegetable Creek and it is this name that appears in texts and writings before 1882 when the name Emmaville was proclaimed.

Emmaville is located in the New England Region but this is not a proper locality descriptor.
