NOTE: The USGS MRDS database contains 2 files for a "Monster Mine (Blue Monster Mine)" and a "Blue Monster Mine (Monster Mine)." The coordinates, T&R values, and references are totally different between the files. The other mine, with a primary name of the "Blue Monster Mine" is designated as such and covered in a separate Mindat file. The MRDS database possibly confused these two mines and cross-designated each with the same two names in reversed sequence.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore body is lenticular in form. Ore occurs in irregular lenses in brecciated zones. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a tunnel driven N40W for 275 feet, an open stope 200 feet long by 12 feet wide, which extends from the tunnel to surface.
Production data are found in: Goodwin, J.C. (1957): 491.
Over 9,000 pounds of Cu were recovered as a by-product.
