A former Au-Pb-Ag occurrence/mine located in sec. 36, T14S, R37E, MDM, 2.6 km (1.6 miles) SSE of Beveridge and 4.4 km (2.7 miles) NNE of New York Butte (coordinates of record), on the divide between Beveridge Canyon and Hunter Canyon, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Inyo Mountains Wilderness) (unclaimed). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
NOTE: Compare the Santa Cruz Mine, Cerro Gordo District. This mine is distinguished in the USGS MRDS database by using the term "Area" in the locality name; otherwise, it would seem to be the same as the Santa Cruz Mine, which is referenced in the alternate names provided by that MRDS file. The remainder of the alternate names are the same for both localities. One is in obvious error since there is a significant distance between the two locations presented.
Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 3 (SE California Clastic Assemblage).
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
