A former W mine located in sec. 8, T7S, R30E, MDM, 3.9 km (2.4 miles) SW of Scheelite (site) (½ mile SW of the Pine Creek W mill), on National Forest (wilderness ?) land (John Muir Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is a W deposit hosted in marble. The ore body dips 75NE at a thickness of 10.06 meters, located near a marble-granite contact. The W content appears higher on the limestone side of the tactite zone. The tactite is bordered by granite on the W, and by marble 65 feet thick, on the E. Aplite dikes 30 feet or more in thickness cut across contacts and divide the tactite and limestone into rectangular blocks. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 7 (Bishop).
Workings include underground openings totaling 201.78 meters in length (6 drill holes totaling 662 feet).
Analytical data results: 0.3-2.0% WO3; 0.1-0.9% Mo.
