A low temperature hydrothermal vein associated with the Kentucky River fault zone in central Kentucky. This area is also known as the central Kentucky mineral (fluorspar) district. This is not to be confused with the Illinois - Kentucky fluorspar district in the western part of the state. Quarry is in the Middle Ordovician Lexington Limestone.
