A baryte deposit located in the SE¼NE¼ sec. 24, T9S, R19E, SBM, 7.0 km (4.4 miles) SW of Thumb Peak (coordinates of record) and 19.4 km (12.1 miles) WSW of Palo Verde, along the NW margin of the Palo Verde Mountains. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in conglomerate. The ore body strikes N60W and dips 25NE. The veins occur in Tertiary, non-marine conglomerate that has a rust-red color. The veins are 10 to 200 feet long and 1 inch (2.5 cm) to 4 feet (1.21 meters) wide. Much of the baryte is sheared and broken in fragments of 6 inches (15 cm) to 3 feet (0.91 meter). Local rocks include Tertiary nonmarine rocks, undivided and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open cut 200 feet long, 8 feet wide and 8 feet deep. A second cut is 1,200 feet to the SE and is 60 feet long, 8 feet wide and 8 feet deep.
