A former Cr mine located in sec. 6, T19N, R7E, MDM, 3.9 km (2.4 miles) ENE of Forbestown, on the Yuba County line, on National Forest land (private lease). Discovered and first produced in 1915. Owned by the U.S. Government (100.00%) (1976). Operated by G. W. and C. H. Peterson and G. W. Usher, last operators, California (1942-1943) (1976). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in serpentinite. The ore body strikes and dips N30E, is 3 meters thick, 4.0 meters wide and 30.0 meters long, with a depth-to-top of 0 meters. It is lenticular, disseminated and placer. Primary mode of origin was magmatic differentiation. Primary ore control was lithology. Alteration unknown. The placer material is hosted in gravels. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided and/or Ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface openings comprised of a trench. NOTE: Intense logging has left no trace of the mine workings.

Production data are found in: Rynearson, Garn Arthur (1953): 285.

Poduction information: Produced 37 long tons of ore in 1915; 1,129 tons in 1916; 246 tons in 1917; and 51 tons in 1918; 37.3 long tons in 1942 and 7.9 tons in 1943.
