A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼ (estimated) sec. 4, T21N, R6E, MDM, 0.8 km (2,600 feet) ENE of Mountain House, along Mountain House Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein Au deposit comprised of 3 veins. The ore body strikes N and dips 80W at a thickness of 2.74 meters. Pyrite present is described as coarse. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Wrkings include underground openings comprised of a 50 foot deep shaft (west vein), which cuts the vein for 14 feet. A crosscut adit was driven to prospect all 3 veins. A hole struck a rose quartz vein, where it was said to pan.
