A partly retrograded coesite-bearing eclogite outcropping close to outcrops of a coarse-grained orthopyroxene eclogite (Garnet websterite, described as "pegmatitic orthopyroxene eclogite" by Eskola) with typical brown enstatite, pinkish red gemmy garnet and bright green diopside and flakes of brown phlogopite.

The site is protected, by law of 1984-11-16-1897, as an Nature heritage (Naturminne in Norwegian). All collecting of either loose rocks or by using hammering at the rock is strictly forbidden.

This is the first recorded UHP eclogite in Norway. Smith (1984) first discovered from a sample collected here a relict coesite in a clinopyroxene grain and noted polycrystalline quartz pseudomorphs after coesite.
