A stone quarry in a pillow lava basalt zone near the Molinello mine.

Operations ceased in 1993.

The quarry is located in Val Graveglia, along the provincial road n. 26, at about 2.7 km from Pian di Fieno, and covers much of the South-East side of the mountain.

It is a quarry with an imposing front with outcrops of basaltic pillows (pillows), of various sizes with features such as rounded shapes and well-pronounced stalk.

Fault surfaces are also visible with striated floors, characterized by a variable color from light green to white due to the presence of minerals such as iron oxides, calcite, quartz.

On the quarry floor, there are several impressive heaps of rubble, since this was the main function of the quarry: mining and production of crushed stone. Also, there remains abandoned machinery, which was until recently used for mining.
