A former U-V occurrence/mine located in approximate S½ sec. 21 and N½ sec. 28, T40N, R30E, G&SRM, 9.4 km (5.3 miles) SSW of Teec Nos Pas, on the W tributary of Teel Nos Pas Wash. T&R values are not presented for this location.
Mineralization is carnotite in irregular tabular layers hosted in Late Jurassic claystone, siltstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation. Ore is found in clusters, usually associated with carbonaceous detritus. Local rocks include rocks of the Glen Canyon Group.
Ore lenses of tyuyamunite and vanadium minerals are associated with carbon matter pockets along a sandstone-mudstone contact about 30 feet above the Salt Wash Member basal contact.
Workings include underground openings comprised of 3 adits with about 100 feet of underground workings. Ore was brought off the mountain with horses.
Production was 53 tons of ore @0.18% U3O8 and 0.9% V2O5 (1955-1956).
