Active hydrothermal vents located on the East Pacific Rise at 13°N.
Particles in suspension in hydrothermal water from deep hydrothermal activity in the tholeiitic basalt oceanic crust. Abundant polycrystaline, inadequately described new species of spinel : Fe/Zn (Zn up to 33%) and Fe/Ti (Ti up to 31%) spinel.
