A Au-Ag-Te open cast mine located in the SW¼ sec. 20, T15S, R69W, near the head of Eclipse Gulch between Raven Hill and Battle Mountain, about 2 miles SE of Cripple Creek. First production in 1995. Pit is centered on the old Cresson mine.

Other names/former names which apply to this operation (subhumed mines/prior owners): Ajax Mine; Globe Hill Mine; Cresson Mine Deposit; Cripple Creek & Victor Mining Company; Ironclad Mine; Victor Mine; Pikes Peak Mining Company; Victor Project; Wild Horse Deposit.

Mineralization is a Au-Te deposit (Deposit model: Model code 84; USGS model code 22b; deposit model name: Alkaline Au-Te (Au-Ag-Te veins); Mark3 model number 80). Lying wholly within the fragmental and intrusive rocks of the Cripple Creek volcanic complex, the mine is characterized by a pipe-like basaltic breccia mass known as the Cresson blowout. Ore occurs as broad zones of low-grade disseminated native gold with pyrite and potassium alteration, with hydrous iron and manganese oxides, or as gold-silver tellurides in narrow quartz-fluorite fractures. Local rocks include intra-ash flow quartz latitic lavas.
