The quarry is located on the western side of the New England Highway.
The quarry has developed into two distinct quarry areas, the later slightly further west.

Cavities in Tertiary basalt flows and breccia zones.

Description: Apophyllite KOH description: “The faces are wavy though brilliant and give distorted and multiple signals. The crystals are suspended among natrolite needles and are also penetrated by them. They are doubly terminated and the prisms are striated slightly parallel to the edge a:c. Description: Natrolite varies from hairlike to 5mm x 1mm stout xls. Often in narrow veins where the xls simply mass together. Best in small vughs.
