Argillized volcanic dacitic agglomerate belonging to the colder external volcanic arc (36-22 My). Quartz and feldspar phenocrysts are replaced by clay and calcite, in a matrix of hematite and clay.
North coast of La Caravelle: Anastomosing networks of clay veins in altered rock, with bleached zone around veins.
South coast of La Caravelle: Agglomerate rock altered by calcite precipitating spring vents.
