Structure: Faults, One Striking N 60 W, Cutting Off A Vertical N 50 E Fault

Alteration: Intense Hydrothermal Alteration.

Commodity: Ore was a talc-chlorite mixture which did not command a high price. Most ore is brecciated with 1-2 inch rounded fragments in a fine-grained foliated matrix. Ore is highly variable in composition, ranging from talc with only a little chlorite to chlorite with minor talc. Quartz and calcite are common impurities.

Deposit: Most talcose material occurs along the contact of igneous and dolomitic rocks. An area 1500 ft SE of c and c open pit has irregular chlorite-rich bodies approximately conformable to bedding, in hornfels, 400 ft south of the contact of igneous rocks with reed dolomite.

Development: Property was worked by owners about 1944-1950. In early and middle 1950's it was leased to a.a. Goehring, who developed the open pit and mined most of the ore. H.n. Stewart mined from an open cut 1500 ft SE of can c open pit

Stratigraphic Name: Johnnie Formation; Wyman Formation

Description: Limestone, quartzite, dolomite, siltstone, conglomerate, and metamorphic rocks crop out in the southeastern, east-central, and northeastern regions of the State as part of Zqs. It forms the Proterozoic base of the continental margin stratigraphic section. This unit includes the Johnnie Formation in southern Nye and Lincoln Counties, schist in Elko County, the McCoy Creek Group metamorphic rocks in Elko and White Pine Counties, and the Wyman Formation in Esmeralda and southern Nye Counties. This rock is overlain by CZq. Its base is not exposed.
