Quartz-bearing pockets (up 3 m × 3 m × 4 m in size) in a hydrothermal quartz-K-feldspar-cemented breccia with an ellipsoid structure 250 m x 500 m in size. The breccia is hosted by Late Paleoproterozoic mylonitic metarhyolite of the Formofoss nappe complex (Müller et al, 2018a,b). It is a fault-related, fluid-assisted, hydraulic breccia which formed by single pulse stress released by a seismic event.

The land is owned by Lierne Skogforvaltning. Collecting is allowed for a fee of Nkr 100 per day limited by one backpack per day (status 2003). Find of new cavities has to be reported and a new fee is agreed on.

The coordinates are those of the "centre" of the breccia.
