A former underground Cu-Ag-Au-Sb-Pb mine located on 19 claims in the SE¼SE¼ sec. 13, T23S, R15E, in the north-central part of the district, about 3½ miles west of Mowry, on the west slope of the Patagonia Mountains, in the NW side of the head of Canada de la Paloma, at an elevation of 5,500 feet on National Forest land. First worked in 1888. Owned by the Chicago & Patagonia Copper & Gold Mining Co., with headquarters at Chicago and Nogales. Owned by Krupp and Sons Const Co. (1956).

The deposits occur ina 5-foot wide vein near the middle of a lentil of quartz monzonite 1 mile wide, intruded into the much larger body of the older quartz monzonite that occupies the basin-like head of the valley on the east and the mountains to the NW. Fibrous black tourmaline intergrown with quartz is developed along the contact of the two rocks, mainly in the older. The intrusive is a fine-grained granitoid rock composed of orthoclase and andesine-labradorite in about equal amounts, with quartz, biotite, hornblende, a little magnetite, and secondary chlorite, hematite, and epidote.

On the 80 level the vein is offset by a seemingly almost flat-lying fault above which the rocks have been moved 12 feet or more to the NW, the fault being normal.

The vein contains principally quartz banded with pyrite, chalcopyrite, and bornite, and these sulphides also impregnate the wall rock.

Workings contain about 2,000 feet of development work and is opened to a depth of 188 feet by 2 shafts, 200 feet of drifts on the 80 and 180 levels, 187 foot crosscut on the 180 level, and several winzes. The main shaft is 250 feet south of the vein on its hanging wall side. The second shaft, 140 feet deep, is sunk on an incline 70º SE., following the vein.
