Structure: American Basin Fault 2 Nw Normal Faults (Post-Mineral); Pre-Mineral Fault Zones.

Alteration: Silicification, Sericitization, Pyritization Of Rhyolite

Deposit: The mineralization at this property is localized in the faulted and brecciated zone along or near the koipato rhyolite-shale contact. Other copper mineralization can be seen in shattered zones in the shales. Faulting dips parallel to the bedding or about 65 degrees west. Vein is 3-10 ft wide with a zone of about 10 feet on either side of vein that is fractured and filled with secondary copper sulfate. The mineralized zones of fracturing are associated with and trend roughly parallel to fault zones. Property consists of 8 patented and 3 unpatented claims. Development consists of a 250 ft adit intersecting a 205-ft. Shaft, with small stopes and crosscuts. Two crosscuts, 560 and 150 ft long have been driven nearby. 15-ton ml was operated to recover gold-silver. Any copper production is unknown. 1956 report says western mercury was attempting to leach secondary copper ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept

Deposit type: Low-sulfide Au-quartz vein
