Sec A Au mine located in secs. 11 & 12, T32N, R36E, MDM, NOTE: Castor and Ferdock (2004), Minerals of Nevada: 137, place this mine in the Blue Wing District.
Structure: Faults And Fracture Zones
Alteration: Silicified Andesite
Deposit: Milky, massive to very slightly drusy quartz veins cut iron-stained meta-rhyolite (?) of the triassic koipato group. The footwall of the vein zone is a 4 m wide granodiorite dike. The veins are 10-50 cm (locally to 1 m) wide each and occur in a zone about 15 m wide. The zone and many veins within it trend due north, dip 65-70 e. Only limonite boxworks and gossan are noted in the vein matter, and the veins resemble those at the auburn mine. No sulfide minerals were noted. Recent exp-loration work has been for disseminated gold deposit.; model name could also be: polymetallic veins. Developed by several tunnels, total length of workings around 2,000 feet. Gold and silver reportedly mined from several adits stoped to surface to form 100 ft-wide glory hole. Best values were obtained within 75 ft. Of surface. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept; 3 field observ
Deposit type: Low-sulfide Au-quartz vein
Development: Current property covers more than 1313 acres including the addition of 30 NE W lode claims and 8 placer claims. In 1983-84, negotiations to develop the property were underway with an unnamed party. If an agreement was reached, drilling was- to begin in 1984 on this disseminated gold deposit. It was on- hold awaiting financing in 1984, but no activity was noted during 1984 NBMG field examination.
Geology: Vein zone is 100 ft. Wide and contains 4 parallel veins averaging 2 1/2 ft. Wide. Vein material is hard, white quartz in silicified andesite.
Rock formation(s): Natchez Pass Formation
Ore(s): Shear Zone
