Alteration: Silicification Along Fault Zone; Kaolinized Shale
Deposit: Quartz-cemented breccia along n80e, 70 n W fault zone in grey limestone is exposed in small prospect pit on the ridge above the main pit. At the pit, the zone strikes n60e. In the pit, the structure is about 20 ft wide and contains crushed limestone, kaolinized shale, some red-brown jasperoid. Jasperoid is laced with clear silica veinlets and contains clots of pulvurent limonite. In fault zone, silicified quartz-cemented -breccia. Calcite veinlets, fluorite? in vugs in breccia.
Deposit type: Hot-spring Hg
Development: L. E. Carlton and others first located the claims in 1958, but in 1959, title was obtained by j. G. Buchannon, who did a modest amount of exploration there in 1959 and 1960.
