‡Ref.: Jones, E.L., Jr. & F.L. Ransome (1920), Deposits of manganese ore in Arizona, USGS Bull. 710-D: 158-159.

A group of 5 manganese claims that lie between the Verdun and Topock groups. Owned by Stewart & Garriott.

These claims overlie some small hills on both sides of the arroyo. The rocks composing the hills are volcanic breccia, rhyolite, volcanic ash, and banded reddish jasper. The jasper is about 40 feet thick in one place, where it is associated with the rhyolite flows.

A vein strikes N.70ºW. and dips 70ºN. The vein is in a shear zone in decomposed volcanic breccia stained with iron oxides. Small bunches of psilomelane and pyrolusite occur near the surface. The vein is 2 feet wide, and consists of coarse-grained calcite with comb structure.

Workings consist of an open cut 30 feet long and a shallow discovery hole.
