Limestone quarry on top of Montcada hill, 10 km north of Barcelona city.

Geology consists of Silurian-Devonian slates, schists, marls, and limestones, with several phosphate-rich beds and disseminations. Phosphate minerals are found in thin layers, nodules, and veins mainly in Silurian slates.

The quarry is worked since 1917 and produces limestone rock for a cement factory belonging to the company ‘Compañía General de Asfaltos y Portland’ (ASLAND).
