A prominent volcanic cone located 10 miles east of the summit of San Francisco Mountain. Designated a National Monument.
There are six fumarole areas (1-6) near the peak of the crater. Three different assemblages of minerals from fumaroles: Yellow-white zone (see alunite associated minerals); dull red zone (see alum-Na associated minerals); and, dark gray-pale brown zone (see magnetite associated minerals).
